Rajnath said that Modi went to Uttarakhand to express his "sympathies" to people affected by the floods
NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh, in a trial to avoid any longer disputation over Narendra Modi's supposed claim of saving 15,000 Gujaratis in sooner or later from the disaster-hit Uttarakhand, processed that the Gujarat chief minister never made such claims.
According to reports, Modi's PR machinery earlier declared that the senior BJP leader rescued 15,000 Gujaratis from the flood-hit areas in barely sooner or later.
Rajnath same that Modi visited Uttarakhand to specific his "sympathies" to people laid low with the floods.
"Modi visited Uttarakhand to specific his sympathies and it is being same that he exhausted 15,000 Gujaratis from there. i myself talked to him and he same that he never gave any such statement," he was quoted by the PTI. "How it is being heralded is beyond understanding."
Reports of Modi saving pilgrims from Uttarakhand had sparked political battle between the BJP and also the Congress. The Congress party mocked Modi as a 'rambo' whereas the BJP leaders accused Congress' vice president Rahul Gandhi of going to Uttarakhand for a "photo-op".
"Congress thinks Rahul Gandhi is a 'Super VIP'," BJP vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had same on weekday.
Rajnath cautioned his party employees to not get entangled in politics in such times.
He added, "I have asked them (party workers) that there is no got to be aggressive though leader of any other party make any statement.
"BJP employees ar sensitive and consider expressing sympathies and extending aid as their faith."
