Nokia Lumia 520 is the most popular Windows Phone in the world: Report

Nokia is the undisputed king in the Windows Phone market and its Lumia 520 budget phone is the world’s most popular Windows Phone device. These findings are a part of a report published by AdDuplex, a company that provides advertising solutions to both Windows and Windows Phone applications.

According to the report, though Windows Phone OS is finding it hard to compete against the likes of Android and iOS on the higher segments, it is enjoying quite a bit of success in the lower- segments. Nokia’s Lumia 520 specially is doing well and globally the budget device controls about 13.3 percent of the Windows Phones market. In India, 31.3 percent of Windows Phones sold is a Lumia 520, which is a big jump from last month when the figure was at 20.8 percent.

Talking of the OEMs, Nokia is way ahead of the rest controlling 85.4 percent of the Windows Phone market globally with HTC coming way back at only 11.5 percent. In terms of the OS versions, 61 percent of users have already switched to Windows Phone 8 devices, while 39 percent are still stuck with Windows Phone 7.
