Micromax A110 Canvas 2: Why Should You Buy the Successor Instead of Canvas A100 Phablet?

Micromax, the company which has surpassed Samsung and Apple in tablet sales in India is splashing a range of budget smartphones and phablets rapidly in-order take up the larger consumer-base in the nation even in this segment.

In just two months, Micromax has come up with a next generation phablet and the successor ofCanvas A100, its first phablet released in August with Android 4.0 ICS and dual SIM support.
A110 Canvas 2, the new phablet from Micromax has some improved aspects to resolve the issues that were present in the original Canvas including sluggish performance. Lets take a look at its refreshing features to analyse how is the successor better than the predecessor.
Display: When it comes to the display, both the phablets have a 5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. However, Canvas 2 has an IPS display that resolves the issues including small viewing angles, low quality color reproduction and slow response time.
Processor: In this segment, Canvas A100 is equipped with a 1GHz Qualcomm Scorpion while the new A110 Canvas comes with a 1GHz dual core processor offering increased performance, more memory space, increased reliability and faster multi-tasking capabilities.
Operating System: Both are flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Hence, they will come packed with similar software features and UI skin.
Camera: On the camera optics front, both Canvas A100 has a 5MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera, however, A100 Canvas 2 has a better 8MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera.
Storage:On the storage front, Canvas A110 has 4GB internal storage as compared to 2GB in its predecessor. Further, both phablets have 512MB and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
Connectivity: In terms of connectivity, both the phablets have 3G, Bluetooth, GPS with aGPS, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi features.
Battery:Both the phablet come loaded with a 2,000 mAh Li-ion battery offering 5 hours talk time and 180 hours standby.
Price: Canvas A100 is priced at Rs 9,999 and having more improved and advanced specifications, Canvas 2 come with a Rs 15,000 price tag, however, Micromax is expected to price it around Rs 12,000 as the phablet is available for pre-order on ManiacStore at Rs 11,999.
Verdict
From the specs, it is evident that Canvas 2 has impressive features including a dual core processor, IPS display technology, more storage space and enhanced camera optics. Hence, A110 Canvas 2 definitely has some out-of-the-box specs as compared to many other devices in the market.
