A refined new version of Moto G

Let’s not lay to rest the prime: Xiaomi will not be the latest and newest smartphone brand in India for much longer. Welcome back, Motorola and moto G.

The US Smartphone giant has been relatively quiet in India after the Moto E launch and we have only got from them about price cuts for the Moto G and Moto X exchange deals. However all that has changed with the launch of the second-generation Moto (2014) and the fresh Moto X, in addition to the Moto 360, debatably the most fashionable smartwatch in town. While the last two will only come in markets this month end, the ‘Moto G2’ will go on sale from tonight.

The vital changes, Motorola says, were to the display and stereo speakers. People wanted a larger screen, so the new Moto G has a 5-inch, 720p AMOLED display. Better speakers, so the G (like the new Moto X) has two vents on its front face, strong sound for ur ears. Much requested SD card slot, which is seemingly a popular way to share files and information between smartphones, especially in developing markets. Therefore the new Moto G has an SD card slot. It has two SIM card slots, this is a smartphone made for everybody, for every requirement, and it imitates exactly what people want.

New Moto G

The whole lot about the new Moto G appears improved. With the new Moto G, which shares the same exact name as its ancestor, here’s what we’re looking at: a 5-inch 720p HD display enclosed with Gorilla Glass screen, and a quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, fronting stereo speakers, an 8 MP of camera, 8GB or 16GB of storage, microSD expandable up to 32GB, a 2,070 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat, afterwords the phone will be upgraded to Android L later this year following its release.

Additionally it now has couple of decent cameras on board and the Moto G will have Android L, as announced by Motorola. And lastly the 12,999 price for the 16 GB version is quite fabulous in our first impression, since there’s a microSD card slot too.

The moto G is beautifully just a lower form of the Moto X, demerit some of the nicest appealing bits and LTE connectivity. It's plastic, a little bit lighter and low-cost than the metallic moto X, but it quiet feels amazingly virtuous. It's a little heavy and a little wide than the old moto G, which is to be probable thanks to the larger display. Motorola also upgraded to an 8 MP camera in back, and a 2-megapixel sensor on the front. It looks decent, as well, especially thanks to the 15 multi-coloured, interchangeable backs that Motorola will also be retailing.

Latest new launched Moto G

All of that is packed into a sleek case that looks and feels just premium. Moreover, the phone will be available with case backs in a variety of colors.

The modifications bring over into the software, too. Motorola show off in both cases about with stock Android, but then on the Moto X it's customized and added a some features, like the Moto Voice and Moto Display features. New Moto G has Moto Assist and Moto Alert, but in general it's somewhat trimmed down. It has no add-ons, virtually no customization; a true stock Android experience. Apparently Moto G does not feel like a $179 phone. Not at all.

Android KitKat is smooth than you think on this low-priced handset. Not quick as leading flagship smartphone like the Galaxy Note 4 or LG G3, but more than smooth enough to get the job done without issues.

New Moto G is furnished with support for Voice Actions and it moreover ships with a attractive Motorola Migrate app, which gets in your personal data from an old phone together with Android phones, iPhones and even other phones.

Possibly best of all is the point that Motorola’s new Moto G goes on sale now tonight. We’ll have much more to review and show on the Moto G in our full review in future. The new moto G is now live on motorola.com.
