Is this the Nexus 5?
Moments after announcing Android 4.4 KitKat, Google celebrated the new version by the customary “unveiling the statue” video outside Building 44 in Googleplex. But the video happened to have one unwarranted guest – the next Nexus smartphone aka the Nexus 5. A Googler is shown in the video shooting the statue unveiling on an unknown smartphone bearing the Nexus branding. Another Googler on his left is using the Nexus 4, which makes for a good comparison shot of what seem to be the present and future Nexus smartphones. A closeup photo follows.
While the logo of the manufacturer seems to have been taped up, the photo clearly shows the next Nexus smartphone would be bigger than the current Nexus 4 made by LG. It will also sport a much bigger camera lens, which could mean that the Nexus series of smartphones might finally get decent photography chops. The back finish also seems similar to that found on the Nexus tablet.
