Alongside the Honor 8 and Honor 8 Smart, Huawei has now launched their first Made in India smartphone in the form of the Honor Holly 3. The lower mid-range smartphone is priced at Rs 9,999 and aims to take on some of its phablet competitors from Chinese counterparts like Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and LeEco Le 1S.

The Honor Holly 3 sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280x720p) display upfront along with a set of sensors and a microphone to the top. Under the hood, the smartphone packs an in-house Hi-Silicon Kirin 620 octa-core chip with cores clocked at 1.2GHz each. This is clubbed with 2GB RAM and 16GB eMMC memory. Apart from that Huawei has also included the option for an additional microSD card (up to 128GB).

Talking of cameras, the Honor Holly 3 which apparently is a successor to the Holly 2 comes with a 13MP f/2.0 BSI CMOS sensor to the rear. This is backed by another 8MP f/2.0 selfie snapper located just above the display. This is, in fact, a marked improvement over its predecessor which came with a lower resolution front-facing shooter. That said, Huawei has hiked the price ever so slightly this time around. Just for comparison the Honor Holly 2 was launched in India earlier this year at Rs 8,4999.

Powering the Honor Holly 3 is a 3100mAh battery which presumably can last you through a day of heavy to moderate usage. The rest of the specifications include the presence of the regular set of sensors including Accelerometer, Proximity, Ambient Light, Compass, and G-Sensor; WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi-Direct and Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP. It’s also worth noting that unlike its costlier siblings, the Honor Holly 3 sports microUSB 2.0 port.

The Honor Holly 3 is a 4G LTE enabled smartphone and runs on Android 6.0 with company’s own EMUI 4.1 on top.
