Budget tablet market has been growing in an astonishing manner and with the announcement of the several tablets at the Computex 2013 Fair in Taiwan, many more are likely to hit the Indian market.
To talk about the manufacturers that rule the Indian low to mid range tablets, there are Micromax, Karnbonn, Intex, Samsung, HCL and many more. Thus the competition has been tough throughout and predicting more devices from the Computex 2013 fair we can assume the optimum level of competition. Adding yet another to its Me series of tablet HCL has again come up with a latest ME Connect 2G 2.0. After Me U2, Me V1 and the ME Y3, HCL has now produced one more soldier to its service to fight the numerous rival tablets. One strong contender to ME Connect 2G 2.0 is Karboon's Smart A37 Tablet. Both Karboon's Smart A37 and HCL Me Connect 2G 2.0 share a common 7 inch Capacitive Touchscreen display with the resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. 

Processor and OS

HCL Me Connect 2G 2.0 is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A9 processor with 1GB DDR3 RAM and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and surprisingly the Karbonn's Smart A37 also share the same configurations regarding the processor and OS but has a less RAM of 512 MB RAM. 

Storage

HCL ME Connect 2G 2.0 has a 4GB internal storage capacity that can be extended up to 32GB with a microSD while the Karbonn Smart A37 has only 2 GB internal storage capacity which can be expanded to 32 GB via microSD. 

Camera and Connectivity

HCL Me Connect 2G 2.0 and Karbonn Smart A37 both have a 2-megapixel camera and a VGA front-facing camera. HCL ME Connect 2G 2.0 tablet features a 2G connectivity through a SIM card slot and supports voice calling. It features USB Port 2.0, Bluetooth and WiFi and 3G via USB Dongle and A-GPS while the Karbonn Smart A37 has 3G, WiFI, GPS and Bluetooth and dual SIM support. 

Battery

HCL Me Connect 2G 2.0 has a 3800 mAh battery while the Karbonn Smart A37 is powered by 3000 mAH, Li-ion Battery.

Price and Availability

The HCL ME Connect 2G 2.0 tablet is priced at Rs. 8,499. It is available across all major stores and online portals and will be supported by an integrated after sales service application - HCL Touch, a 24X7 one touch service facility. Karbonn Smart A37 on the other hand comes at the price of Rs. 8,899 on online retail stores.
Conclusion

There is actually a very less difference between HCL ME Connect 2G 2.0 and Karbonn Smart A37. With the similar range of price with just the difference of Rs. 400 between the two tablets, one may easily fall in dilemma. However, HCl has a better RAM and a larger storage capacity than Karbonn and a better battery as well. Thus HCL is likely to outrun the Karbon Smart A37.
